Pieter Pecinovsky receives Brian Bercusson Award on European Labour Law 2019

VOW's Of Counsel Pieter Pecinovsky has received the ETUC Brian Bercusson Award on European Labour Law 2019 for his doctoral thesis on EU economic governance and the right to collective bargaining (KU Leuven, 2018). 

Pieter has received the Award from ETUC Secretary-General Luca Visentini and ETUI Director Philippe Pochet on 21 May 2019 at the 14th ETUC Congress in Vienna. At the award ceremony, Pieter's work was praised by Prof. dr. Niklas Bruun (Stockholm and Helsinkin University) as being of outstanding quality and great importance for European Labour Law. On 22 May 2019, Pieter further had the opportunity to present his PhD research on a Breakfast Seminar at the Congress.

Pieter's work was selected by the TTUR (Transnational Trade Union Rights Experts Network), consisting out of European academic experts in labour law. Every four years, this network chooses the best PhD research on EU labour law in honour of the memory of the late Montreal-born professor Brian Bercusson of Cambridge University, who was well-known for his standard work on EU labour law.
