Mr. Chris Van Olmen, head of Employment, gave a presentation on social law and the on demand economy ("Sociaal recht en deeleconomie") on 19 March 2019 at the Association Social Law (Vereniging Sociaal Recht) in the Labour Court of Brussels.
Chris gave an overview of the different platforms, the sort of the services and labour in the on demand economy, the problems related to the nature of the labour relation (employee / independent contractors) and focused on recent case law on i.a. Deliveroo and Uber in Belgium and neighbouring countries.
