New book on Administrative law by Stéphanie De Somer

Stéphanie De Somer, Of counsel at VOW's civil servants team, has published a new book (2nd edition) on administrative law together with professor Ingrid Opdebeek (UAntwerpen): "Algemeen bestuursrecht - Grondslagen en beginselen", which can be found at the webstore of published Intersentia (see link below).

This book explores the foundations and guiding principles of administrative law. It starts from the common foundation (the roots) of all this: the constitutional values and the principles of good governance that are even less well known in Belgium. In addition, the book devotes a great deal of attention to the case law of the Council of State and the general concepts, doctrines and principles that can be found in it. After all, these are Ariadne's thread that can offer a way out of the labyrinth of administrative law.

New in this second edition is the incorporation of important new regulations, but also of the innovative jurisprudence of the (general meeting of the) Council of State.

Stéphanie De Somer is a postdoctoral FWO researcher and temporary professor at the University of Antwerp and visiting professor at the Univeristy of Brussels (VUB).
