Last week we had the pleasure of hosting our last Corporate Forum of the year. This Forum focused on the topic of Governance within family companies and we were honoured to organise this together with ECS European Containers. Belgium has an impressive number of family companies, all making a vital contribution to our economy and society. Ensuring the success and continuity of our family companies is therefore crucial, but not an easy matter.
First, our Corporate and M&A partner Koen Hoornaert and associate Alice Vander Stichele shed light on the theoretical framework regarding this topic. Afterwards, Christine De Dijcker and Alizée Lanckriet, part of the second and third generation of ECS, guided the audience through the unique and impressive growth story of ECS and provided practical insights into how the presence or lack of governance played a decisive role at certain pivotal moments. Both parts complemented each other equally and provided the audience with both theoretical as well as practical key takeaways.
