Van Olmen & Wynant had the pleasure to welcome more than 100 HR professionals and legal counsels to its latest Employment Forum at Cercle de Lorraine on 13 February 2020. The subject of the seminar was a diverse flashback to the jurisprudence of the Belgian labour courts in 2019. VOW made a carefully curated selection of 10 interesting and remarkable cases that have left a mark on the practice of social law. These cases were presented by partner Nicolas Simon and Senior Associate Thomas De Jongh, both experienced attorneys in our Employment Department.
The seminar looked at cases with various subjects, among which privacy in relation to the tracking of the use of company cars (by geolocalisation), the motivation of dismissals, discrimination relating to age and health, absenteeism, remuneration, bonus policies, the distinction between domestic work and telework and the modification of the internal work rules.
After the seminar, the Audience was invited to enjoy a lunch.
