Chris Van Olmen is founding partner of the law firm Van Olmen & Wynant and head of the employment law practice. He is also chairman of L&E Global, an international alliance of leading niche employment firms.

Chris regularly writes and lectures on employment law issues. He is the author of the Belgian Chapter in 'Employment and Labour Law', The European Lawyer 2012, in 'The Employment Law Review', Law Business Research 2013, in 'International Handbook on contracts of employment', Kluwer Law International 2007 and in 'Global Recruiting, Screening, Testing, Interviewing and Criteria Handbook', Kluwer Law International 2007; Van Olmen is also co-author of Global Business Workforce Restructuring, Kluwer Law International 2003.

Chris is listed as a leading individual in the Legal 500 (edition 2013) and in Chambers Europe (2013), and is also listed in the PLC Handbooks, Labour and Employee Benefits (2012/13), in the Legal Media Group Guide to the World’s Leading Labour & Employment Lawyers (2011), in European Legal Experts (2013), and in The International Who's Who of Management Labour & Employment Lawyers 2012.

Chris served as a member of the Brussels Bar Council, and is Board Member of the 'Association for Social Law'. Since 1999 he has been lecturing on social law in the traineeship programme organised by the Brussels Bar.

He is Senior Vice-Chair of the Employment Law and Industrial Relations Committee, and Advisory Board Member of the Law Firm Management Committee of the IBA. He is also a member of EELA (European Employment Lawyers Association), and of the American Bar Association (Labour and Employment Law Section).

Chris was speaker or moderator at numerous national and international seminars and conferences. Chris has acted as Program Chair of the Conference organised by the “Employment Law and Industrial Relations Law Committee” of the IBA in Brussels in April 2011, and as moderator at the EELA Conference in Helsinki in May 2011, at the IBA Conference in Dubai in November 2011, at the IBA Conference in New York in March 2012, and at the IBA Conference in Dublin in October 2012. He also spoke at the Belgian Institute of Company Lawyers in November 2012, and at the IBA Conference in Amsterdam in April 2013, and will act as moderator at the upcoming IBA Conference in Boston in October 2013.

Luc Wynant is founding partner of Van Olmen Wynant and head of the corporate law, private equity and M&A practice.

Luc has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate law, in particular regarding mergers & acquisitions and private equity in both transactional and financial work. He focuses especially on international and domestic share and assets acquisitions, venture capital and debt capital markets, (leverage) management buy outs, divestitures, funds formations, mergers and company reorganisations.

Luc is listed as recommended lawyer in the PLC Handbooks and in The Legal 500.

Luc regularly publishes on corporate and financial law. He is the author of the Belgian Chapter in the Private Equity Handbook and the Venture Capital Handbook (Practical Law Company). He also lectures on private equity and corporate law issues at his Alma Mater and at various national and international congresses and seminars.
Luc is fluent in Dutch, French and English. He was admitted to the Brussels bar in 1989.

Luc graduated from the University of Leuven (KUL) in 1989 and obtained an MBA degree from the Vlerick Leuven Ghent Business School (1990). He was an assistant teacher at the law department of his Alma Mater for several years.

Stéphane Baltazar is partner of Van Olmen Wynant and member of the employment law department.

Stéphane has a broad experience in various aspects of employment law and social security law. He focuses on the management of collective and individual labour relations, the treatment of legal and financial aspects of international employment contracts, individual and collective dismissal, transfer of undertakings, social elections and compensation and benefits. He regularly writes and publishes on employment law issues.

Stéphane is fluent in French, Dutch, English and Portuguese. Stéphane was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 1995. Before joining Van Olmen Wynant in 2004, he was an attorney at Stibbe for eight years. Stéphane has been partner since 2008.

Stéphane graduated from the University of Brussels (ULB) in 1991. He pursued a Postgraduate Degree in Labour law at the University of Brussels (ULB). He was assistant researcher at his Alma Mater for two years, focusing on Social Inspectorate and Labour law.

Filip Corveleyn is a partner at Van Olmen & Wynant and member of the employment law department.

Filip regularly advises national and international clients on a variety of Change Management issues such as post transfer harmonisation, collective bargaining, M&A, company closures & collective dismissals, outsourcing, BPO etc.

Filip has two (2) years of professional experience as a research assistant at the Institute for Social Law and the European Institute for Social Security at the University of Louvain, nine (9) years of professional experience as a corporate employment lawyer with an international law firm, and two (2) years of professional experience at partner level at a multi service business law firm. Over the years, Filip has advised many international clients on their restructuring projects (Life science industry, Banking industry, Tech industry, Leisure industry, Food industry, etc).

Filip received his law degree from the University of Louvain (2000). He also holds a degree in Belgian and European Tax law from the same University (2001). He has read pension law at the Institute for Social Security law of the University of Louvain (2008-2009) and currently participates in the Executive MBA programme of the Judge Business School at the Cambridge University (2010-2012).
